La Grammaire a l’Oeuvre is a pedagogically conceived review of French grammar written all in French from the point of view of English-speaking learners. It develops communicative ability by providing adequate and varied context in which the student can observe the functioning of grammar and get a sense of how discourse shapes itself to purposeful ends. Both oral and written expression are stressed in a variety of situations calling for different levels of language use with abundant supporting exercises.
